3-D animation with airbrush is one of the most enjoyable things to do in the field. Knowledge of freehand templates and sequential masking will help achieve a more "crisp" and professional look when rendering. We teach students to ged rid of the 2-D "black outlined" imagery and expose them to the concepts of loose and contact masking to achieve more contour, dimension, and form. Textural tricks are always in accordance with the rendering process for backgrounds such as brick, clouds, rust, fire, chrome, distressed metal, cobblestone, rivets, carbon fiber etc. Once a student purchases an opaque projector, they can do childrens rooms, signs, backdrops, banners, carhoods, helmets, and any form of animation on any surface to enhance their incomes and build an exsquisite body of work.
